Of these, Netflix Party and Netflix Party 2 are the most downloaded. With this, users can watch videos with their friends sitting at different places. The report states that these extensions use versatile scripts to steal users’ browsing data. Thus, their data was transferred to a domain controlled by the attacker. Each time a user visits a new URL, their browsing data is captured by the attacker. This data is used to include information such as user ID, device location, location, and encoded referring URLs. If you are using any of the browser extensions mentioned above, remove them immediately. You can do this from “Manage extensions” after clicking on the extension icon that appears next to the address bar. The Netflix Party, Netflix Party 2, and Autobuy Flash Sales extensions have been removed from the Chrome Web Store, while the others are still available for download.
