Vivaldi 5.5 web browser brings a new task panel
The development team responsible for creating the excellent Vivaldi Web Browser announced this week the release of version 5.5, bringing with it a host of new features including a new Task Panel. Once you’ve updated to the latest browser version, you’ll be able to create and track your tasks and schedules more efficiently, without having to leave your browser. “Add details such as due date, repeats set, location and description (including any relevant URLs), and reminders.”
Tasks with due dates will appear in the main calendar view in the appropriate location and open tasks, with no due date set, can be found in Vivaldi 5.5’s Agenda view.

Other features include:
– Mail and Calendar account setups become super easy. It literally takes no time to create a new account now. Previously, some popular services (such as Fastmail) might require detailed information to set up email and calendar (CalDAV) accounts. Now, in more cases, server details are automatically configured for you. Just enter your login credentials and Vivaldi Mail will do the rest.
– The speed has improved! If you’re a fast guy, you’re in luck. This version is worth checking out. We worked on many changes under the hood. As part of this ongoing work, parts of the address field logic have been rewritten to improve speed.
– Snap layout support in Windows 11. With added Snap layout support, you can automatically resize one or more windows to fill the screen when swiping. Choose from six different layout types to fit up to 4 windows on your screen at once.
