How to Clear Browser History on Oculus Quest 2

Your Oculus Quest 2 (or original Quest) includes an internet browser, which is useful for finding walkthroughs and gameplay tips without leaving VR. Like any desktop or mobile browser, you’ll probably want to clear history at some point. Luckily, it’s easy to do on your quest.

We are going to show you how to clear Oculus Quest 2 browser history and how to stop it from saving history in the future.

How to Clear Oculus Quest Browser History

First, you’ll need to open the Oculus browser to access its settings, including clearing history. press the Oculus to show the quick menu, then select the grid icon on the right to show your installed apps. To find Navigator from the list and select it to launch the application.

Once the browser is open, select the three dots Menu button in the upper right corner. From the resulting drop-down menu, choose the Clear browsing data entrance.

This will bring up a menu similar to Google Chrome’s clear history option. Check the box for each type of browsing data you want to clear. Browser history is essential to release Story panel, but if you want to erase all traces of past browsing, also check Cookies and site dataand Cached images and files.

Other options, like Saved passwords and Autofill form data, up to you. They are not necessarily related to your browsing history, but you may want to delete all other data stored by the browser.


Oculus Quest 2 Clear Browser History

Near the top of the menu, you can set the time period from which you want to clear the history. Choose The dawn of time to erase everything, or choose a more recent period if you wish.

Once you have selected Erase data, your Quest 2 browser history will be deleted. If you want to be sure nothing is left, go back to the three dots Menu and check the Story sign.

How to Stop Your Quest 2 from Saving Browsing Data

Like all other modern browsers, the Oculus Quest 2 browser includes a private browsing mode. A private session will not save any browser history; once you close all private tabs, all cookies, cached data and history entries will be destroyed.

Private Browsing is useful, but remember that you are not invisible when using it. Websites, your ISP, and the pages you connect to can still track you.

Clear your Quest 2 browsing data for more privacy

You may want to clear your Oculus Quest browser history so that others who use the headset can’t view it. Maybe you don’t want to leave more data on the device for Facebook to harvest, or maybe you like a tidy history list. Whatever the reason, clearing browser history on an Oculus Quest 2 is easy.
